Quality refers to the percentage of products that meet quality standards out of the total produced. It shows how many parts or units are made without defects, as compared to the total production output.
The formula for Quality is:
Quality (%) = (Good Parts ÷ Total Parts) × 100
- Good Parts are the products that pass inspection and don’t require rework.
- Total Parts includes both good and defective parts.
For example, if a machine produces 900 good parts out of 1,000 total parts, the Quality would be 90%.
A high Quality score in OEE means fewer defective products and less waste, which contributes to lower costs and higher efficiency.
