POET sponsored rugby team triumphs in cup final

A youth rugby team sponsored by Probe RTS and POET Systems Ltd. has triumphed in a regional cup final.

The two businesses have sponsored the kit of Bridgend Athletic Under 14s (boys) for the last five years.

Last weekend, the team won the under 14s Ospreys Region District D Cup.

They beat Tondu 29-15 in the match at The Gnoll, Neath RFC’s ground.

The win was even more special because the team made the Under 13 final last year, but could not play due to Covid-19.

Lynn Davies, Director of Probe and POET, said: “As a proud Bridgend-based business, we consider it our mission to give back to the community, and part of the way we do that is by supporting our local youth sports teams.

“We’re delighted that Bridgend Athletic Under 14s have won their cup final. Da iawn boys!”

Bridgend Athletic Under 14s team manager Carley Davies said the sponsorship has been a “huge benefit” to the team.

“The sponsorship from Probe and POET has enabled us to buy match kits and training kits for the boys as they’ve moved up through the ages. Without it the parents would have to have purchased the kits themselves.”
